    • August 1-3, 2014: The Houston Lady Hoops participated in their final tournament, which was the Lone Star National Championships. The Lady Hoops had a even 5-0 sweep of the entire national. Their overall summer record for the entire year was 53-13. That is a wonderful first year of togetherness. These girls are on the map now, just as good as the boys. Houston's Best Kept Secret, has now been let out of the bag. Welcome the Lady Hoops to AAU Basketball and will be even stronger next season. They will be losing one senior; Italy Walker (signed with Texas State), she will truly be missed; one of the true Houston Hoopers. Next year, returners will be about 7 girls which is lead by the heavily recruited #22 - Ireneshia Johnson by University of Missouri Tigers; #14 - Eemani Brown (star point guard); #20 - Ashley Caldwell (Ms. Defense) the finger wave. Mirackle Sallie, Kirbee Celestine, Damonyka Roberts, Miya Crump all will have dominant and important roles next year as well. They play a big part in Coach Taylor's system and every lady on the team have to fill their own shoes and do their own job to be the best, and they have gotten a taste of that this year.

Other Notes: Italy hit the game winning shot surrounded by 3 opposing players on the run for a (and 1 and freethrow to win), to get to the finals. Also, Raven Clark came back to the team and had a monster game defensively, with 7 steals and held the opposing teams star player to 0 points in the 2nd Half of the game.
