These girls came out and did their thing. WE AS A FAMILY AND ORGANIZATION THAT CARES FOR OUR TEAMS NEED TO BE PROUD. The ladies represented the Hoops well this season with more to come.In Saturday's news, the Hoops played 3 games in the Houston Elite Classic. It was a hard and injury prone Saturday for the Lady Hoops. All the premier players were tired and hurt in every part of themselves. There were five games played on Saturday alone and the Lady Hoops kept every game competitive, but could not prevail in any of the games, like we always say in our practice DON'T EVER UNDERESTIMATE THE HEART OF A CHAMPION!; IT'S NOT ABOUT THE SIZE OF THE DOG IN THE FIGHT; BUT IT'S ABOUT THE FIGHT IN THE DOG!! All the teams' losses on Saturday were against, DFW (55-52); MP Elite; Houston Elite; League City Defenders; OTCYBC Shotcallers. The Lady Hoops were majority hurt and tired with a brutal Elite Saturday schedule.
On Sunday after a good night of rest and curfew by Coach Taylor, the Hoops came back with a furious attack on anyone that stood in their way. It took two wins in the Buddy Ward Tournament to win the championship and the Hoops took care of business. Led by Eemani Brown, Delisha Byrd, Kirbee Celestine, Mirackle Sallie, and Mikaila Martin, the Lady Hoops beat the League City Defenders 49-39 to get to the finals. For the Championship, the Hoops beat OTCYBC 51-30 to claim the 4th Annual Buddy Ward III Tournament first place championship.
The Ladies pulled out agrueling 52-50 win playing with the most passion and heart they have had this season. They did not take a loss for an answer. The ladies played hurt and still manage to pull out a win and redeem themselves with the Cyfair organization. Now they have a summer record of 29-4. Eemani Brown, Mikaila Martin, Ireneshia Johnson, and Delisha Byrd where the standouts of the championship win. GREAT JOB LADIES
